I don't about you or the other individuals that have replied, but I have charged at a rate of $10.00 per year searched and since I have worked as a title examiner for about 9 years and a landman for 2 presently, I feel my time is valuable.  I always include a abstract/run sheet with the last vesting deed with my work  and I go back a minimum 25 years anyway.  Being here in Texas the counties are not always close by so my fee of $250.00 minimum for a full title search  I feel is reasonable since the clients don't always provide a proper legal description or correct current owners.  I don't trust individuals who lower their fees just to get the work, because usually there are instruments missing in the chain.  I have pride in my work and expect to be compensated for it.
