Would "payment terms" suffice?  Instead of the customer listing an actual date, perhaps something along the lines of "payment will be issued 30-45 days after completion".  OR even better, would it hold any water if the vendor put a note on the completed search- "by accepting this completed exam you agree to have payment issued within 45 days" ...???
