I am in the process of doing just this very thing!  I called and asked for the person in charge of the states that we cover.  He has been extremely helpful and responsive. This underwriter has actually offered to pay the amount due! .. Maybe the "theft of service" concept can apply to title companies also. After all.. most of the work we did was used to provide policies. And.. just maybe.. if a number of abstractors from different states complained about the same company it could be a BIG wake-up call!
