I agree with Robert and Donna. I have a small company and from 2003 to current I have been stiffed for over 60K, and guess what, I paid my abstractor's because without them I have no company, they are part of my team.
Instead of giving out big bonuses to his employee's he should have used the money to pay his abstractor's or put the money in reserves for hard times, and as Robert said he should never have allowed his clients to go out on him 100's of thousands of dollars.
Its great that he was a caring individual, but where was his care for the guys who did the work?
