You don't seem to have any awareness that the massive government spending has been mainly to stabilitze the banks and re- invigorate the very business you're all working in- Real Esate. Now maybe the banks have been as corrupt as hell and as stupid as can be and deserve to fail. But the fact is, money comes from the bank, and if they fail, what happens to our ability of be able to buy and sell goods? Do you want to go back to a barter system?

What do any of you think would happen if the banking system collapsed? Do you have any idea how bad this situation is that your quoting Ayn Rand and calling the president a socialist? Is there really this little knowledge of economic systems (every economy is a mixture of socialist and capitalist elements- there is no pure free market or socialist government in the world, and I don't know, historically, if there ever has been) that leads someone to state that bailing out the economy is a 'socialist' thing? It's hard to argue against a well placed anger at the banking system that led us into this, but again, do you know what happens when you allow banks to collapse?

And about the stimulus- we've lost twelve trillion dollars out of the economy. There is no money. The only entity that can put money back into the economy is the Government. If you understand anything about economics you must know that when businesses are laying off because there is no credit, you create a deadly cycle of unemployment. Just consider what would happen if the Government did nothing in this instance- you would get massive unemployment, massive loss of industry, no credit...a full scale economic collapse. I know, John Gault is in denial about this. But pure free market capitalism is a myth...and as for Mr. Gault, well, when your believe in an ideology  everything you see has to fit into your nice little ideological box, or else you throw it out. Because to an ideologue, truth has one face, and if it doesn't fit neatly into the ideology, throw it out.

But it seems now we're brandishing teabags like loaded weapons, threatening secession and all manner of things because we lost power and our ideology proved to be mainly false- you can't allow the rich and powerful to do what ever they want without any regulation and expect anything good to come from that. If you give massive tax cuts to the richest people, it doesn't trickle down to the rest of society, instead the rich get richer (just check where all the money has gone the last thirty years). And finally, yes, you make the point. A lot of poor and middle class people out protesting that the tax rates on the top 2% may have to be raised.

That's exactly why we have outsouring and the destruction of the working class in the United States...Because working people have given their power over to the corporate class in America. It is class warfare, waged on you, and you have surrendered without a fight.

John Gault never had good intentions to you people at all. He wanted all your money, and he wanted you to be his slaves.
