Now is the time, if government would get out of the way, to allow Joseph Schumpeter's "creative destruction" maxim to work.
"The market must clean itself out by taking resources away from the losers, so it creatively destroys the losing companies and reallocates resources to the winning companies. That's really what's going on."
Being innovative, knowing the game, refining overhead expenditures and preparing from one's knowledge provides an advantage which much larger firms can't match - their focus is simply diverted from the larger variable set they have to manage.
Small, lean, entrepreneurs will emerge as tomorrow's titans. Microsoft and Apple were born during the 1974/1975 inflationary oil crises!! And from the garage!!
