A simple will is indeed often good, but this one seemed to me to be overly simple. I'm not trying to pass any judgment, except as to express my free opinion in observation that his lawyers did not even seem to construct the grammar of the will well. Just an opinion. I've seen a lot of wills over 25 years of title work, including probate case abstracting throughout, and I've written wills of my own. I would not feel very secure with this one as I think that the wording in some areas is ambiguous and open to more challenge than there should be. It is simple, but simple does not always mean "clear".
Here is a judgement though: Entertainers, as role models, should display better decision making abilities by having better estate planning. MJ, in my humble opinion, did not do so, and I stand on this both as my right to my opinion and as my right to stand on this soapbox and shout it out. lol.
