Since our former governor mandated that all county records must be online for at least the last 20 years work has taken a big nose dive if you're an independent.   Guys in India are doing searches in Miami-Dade - it's really disheartening.  Add to that companies like Redvision that will do a current owner search for $10.00 (yup, $10.00 for a current owner, $15 for a full - sickening, isn't it?) and the absolutely lousy economy here and it's amazing I'm still in business.  I do foreclosure work, chain of title searches, and the really old, nasty backchains that they can't do online.   It's only because I'm willing to do the ugly work and the fact that I'm really, really good (hey, somebody's gotta toot my horn! (: )  that I'm still around.  Oh, and I have a second job.  Don't we all?
