The main thing the program does is prevent Title Insurance Companies from being able to come into the State and set up shop to sell Title Insurance, but it can be purchased from out of state companies none the less. Abstracting, at one time, was dominated by a few companies., Like Iowa Title Company and the county abstract companies, until others saw opportunities in the market that kind of opened things up a bit which helped lead me into the business and I'm doing pretty good right now compared to last year. I know other parts of the country are still struggling and I feel for them. I almost didn't stay in business myself before starting to do alot of pre and post foreclosure work and i'm starting to see an increase in other things like refis and purchase Searches as well, so hopefully things are starting to turn back around.
