George,

   Why not just hold on to the docs and wait for them to send you more information?  If you did a search on the property I'm sure you might have a copy of the legal in your file or they could e-mail/fax you a copy of the legal.  The check is written out to the wrong clerk, so it's not like you were going to use it for a different file.
