Wendi: I agree- you are looking for a 'relational" data base and Jim sounds like he has what you need- I found in my search that the more I wanted to add to the system the more it was gong to cost me- I decided on the less expensive route and it has worked for me-my total outlay is 0 - Paperport came with my scanner and works come with the computer-a far cry from the $60/ hour that the developers wanted way back then-and then there was the translation of "title talk" into computer fields- there just was not a clear avenue to follow back then- but now we/you have a lot of fellow abstractors to get help from- I hope this works for you- it does sound promising to me also.
Just as a follow up- I have purchased two versions of "Alpha-5", it does have a lot of the same promises that Access has- but alot easier- look into it- they have some good deals too- I got both of my copies for about $100.
Best of luck and or assistance from all of the ones offering.
