I hear where you are coming from.......sometimes I do leap before I look, sometimes it works sometimes it does not, but I know my intentions were only to be paid for services rendered & I had taken the steps in a polite, sincere & professional manner when dealing with the FDIC & they jumped on my side to help me out. I did actually consider things along the same lines you stated prior to doing so, and decided to move forward with things.

Laws are more like guidlines & are always changing, being tweaked & exceptions made (just ask O.J.) by groups of powers pushing there agendas --- pretty soon you & I may be able to make some really big bucks legally selling pot our states   J/K (or am I ? LOL)
