Sam,  Have you ever considered that an "experienced abstractor" my see something (a problem) that would best be cleared up by you seeing the copy of a doc, instead of just what might be written out on a report sent to you.  In that case, I would (maybe mistakenly) conclude that such a little cost as a dollar or two for a copy of the item in question would a very wise investment on your part.  On the other side of the equation, I would propose that the small copy cost of the extra doc copy would be very much less than if you in the future had to order a doc copy for me to get for you, which might be $20 or more, not just the original dollar or two.
