That is an interesting concept.  And, it isn't just medication... I often wondered why an MRI costs so much and I'm sure it has a lot to do with the cost of the equipment.  No doubt, they are leased for a portion of the fees charged.  But, if there were more competition, I'm sure the technology would be cheaper.

But, I'm not sold on the idea.  Where would this country be if entrepreneurs could not protect their inventions?  There must be a way to bring down the cost of health related services without sacrificing individual's property rights.
