I understand that the president is encouraging Senator Reid to cut a deal with Sen. Lieberman that would eliminate the buy-in provision which would make Medicare available to those as young as 55.  I don't always agree with "Old Joe", but at least he does stick to his principles.  There's talk among the Dems of stripping him of his committee chairmanship and a liberal blogger has even called on the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation to "dump Hadassah Lieberman as its 'Global Ambassador' due to her ties to the same healthcare industry that is actively fighting Congressional healthcare reform".  To its credit, the Komen foundation is standing by Mrs. Lieberman.
