Michelle: You are correct- It is your obligation to file a claim with your E&O provider when you are aware of a potential claim- it is not your clients job, they are obligated to inform you of any potential claim and that is it- the E&O provider takes it from there.
There is no reason for the client to need a complete copy of the policy- that is YOUR policy, not the clients- unless the client wants to pay for it, then they can have a complete copy.
