I recently ran into a situation in northeastern PA while working on a due diligence project for an oil & gas outfit.  We discovered a blanket Assignment of Oil & Gas Lease (covering several townships and multiple Lessors) which was indexed under the name of the Lessee, the Assignee and only the first Lessor.  Seems that the Recorder of Deeds' staff in that county was either unable or unwilling to enter the names of all of the Lessors.  The reason given was that "due to software limitations, it is not possible to index all names on blanket assignments".  I have to wonder if it was due to laziness on the part of the Recorder of Deeds personnel.
