I was under the impression the the bank, etc had to put up fees anyway for filing, deposit, etc. Is it safe to assume that the client was provided with at least something to get the foreclosure proceeding started. Its not just the abstract. The fees are not small to file the petition, etc. Plus the attorney is not going to draw that stuff up for free. Those fees are alot more that the abstract fee. Am I wrong, or do they order the abstract, and wait until the client is ready to file the petition? I may be wrong, but when you send the abstract, the attorney will be writing an opinion, and his opinion fee alone is more than the abstract fee. Any comments?
