I don't blame you. I wouldn't agree to that, either. They are essentially telling you that they expect you to absorb their losses if a file doesn't close. If you did the work and turned it around in a timely manner, you deserve to be compensated for it. If your client can't do that and remain profitable, they either need to modify their business model or close their doors.
