Sometimes you are better off. If you resent what you are getting paid, and the client wants it back within 24 hours, there is no way you are going to do a thorough job. Sometimes the co searches that we get are very involved, and a lot of them are foreclosure work. I am sure that the companies know that the co search is really a foreclosure. In this case we charge a larger fee. Most of them do pay what we ask, but it is annoying to have to call them and explain why. Commercial work can be very tricky, and that is always expensive. Sure they can get away cheaper by using someone who is very new to the business, but that is not a good business practice.
