To all those who replied to my posting, thank you. I thought I was losing my mind when this client proposed a search fee of $35.00 for a commercial back title search. Believe me, we did charge more than the $35.00 he suggested. Which is why I beleive we have lost this client. We don't do a lot of commercial work, but we do enough to me to realize that a $35.00 fee is ludicrious. None of our other clients for whom we provide commercial work, both back title and original searches, have ever complained about our fees.
