Not so much. She really wasn't all that significant to the Civil Rights movement, she just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Lots of other black women in Montgomery went before her (without recognition), she's just the one you've always heard about.
Ever heard of Claudette Colvin? She was a 15-year-old black girl who lived in the same town and did the exact same thing as Mrs. Parks, except she did it nine months before. Ms. Colvin was actually the first one to challenge the law, but Parks was the one who took all the credit. And by all accounts, she was pretty obnoxious about it.
