It's no doubt due to the increased activity in the region by the energy exploration companies looking to acquire leasehold interests in the Marcellus Shale.

There's a high demand for experienced examiners in southwest PA, but word is that a lot of brokers are literally hiring people right off the street without regard for whether or not they actually know what they're doing.  Could be you've run into a few of them.
