How does Houston get away w/charging a buck?  For what?  Some counties I go to charge $1 for a plat because they use microfilm machines. They are terrible copies too.   I didn't know Cobb charged .50 a copy.  I thought regular copies were set by the clerk's authority.  You can get them cheaper there.  However, statewide, it's going up to .50 and I understand DeKalb is already charging that.  I realize abstractors in other states think copies are a deal here, but I'm sure your fees take that into account.  Ours take into account .25 a copy.  Georgia is broke and like other states, is raising fees on whatever.  Unfortunately, things like the doubled copy costs, hurt small business people like us and it will be passed down.  I've never charged double but know many who do, even quadruple.  I will have to think about that.  Thanks for your input; it's been interesting.
