I had a similar experience with a company called Abstractors A Go Go, LLC. out of Mount Laurel, New Jersey. They bounced a check on me and still have a balanced owed. They sound like they could be possibly related. Companies that are no names or have negative ratings or feedback  I definitely would not do work for...just to risky. Another company that we got screwed on was Infinity Processing out of MD. They outsource their customer service to India...another big No No!
