Not that I am against some form of health care assistance/regulation.
I am Against the Federal Government forcing American taxpayers to BUY a product and the IRS being the enforcement agency to charge a penalty tax against anyone caught buying a product not endorsed by the Federal Government. The IRS is not my favorite enforcement agency. (How does the IRS collect the penalty tax from illegal immigrants or those who don't pay taxes? My mistake: I thought taxes were collected to fund the cost of government and its programs. When did taxes become a "penalty fee" for not buying a product?
Will the Federal Government next force American taxpayers to buy only cars manufactured by American-owned businesses and, if caught owning a car not approved by the Federal Government, will the IRS attach our paychecks to pay the penalty tax. Solves the GM problem.
This is leading us down a slippery slope. I like the comment that we should be be the "food police," grabbing what we think is unhealthy or fattening food from the hands of someone before s/he can consume it under the "just cause of saving taxpayer dollars by not allowing this fat person to consume unhealthy food."
