You are all wrong.
It's complacency, not incompetence. Complacent with ethics, complacent with honor, family, reputation. Complacent about being an American.
I remember not having a father growing up because he was doing some closing on the hood of someone's car in the middle of the night, or Saturday during my sporting events. I remember my father working himself into three heart-attacks doing the one and only thing that mattered. 100% dedication to providing for his family and being of the absolute highest integrity.
Americans have become fat, slobbish and entitled. "what's in it for me?" Is the new 'Ask not what your Country can do for you"...We have become complacent while rats infest our leadership and push to make us dependent upon them for our very survival. Overseas title reports are a matter of National Security in my humble opinion. How many cases of identity theft? How many erroneous reports? I still know of court houses that keep their assessments in a three ring binder in the auditor's office. But a company is willing to issue a million dollar policy on that 35 dollar report they ordered 10 minutes ago? Complacent. Not incompetent.
How many of us voted this socialist imposter into office last election? Did anyone care to question? To analyze? To take the step back and see what was infront of us? Complacent. Our situatio as hard as it is for me to say is exactly what we deserve. We as a group were complacent, we didn't stand up for our industry, we didn't yell loud enough. Now the majority of our business is done by 8.00 an hour employees sitting infront of a computer.
I took a thrashing some years ago on this forum for calling a person the anti-christ on here because he developed a character recognition software program that could scan entire documents and index them for online use. I apologized then, but now, I realize I was right, but I was complacent and let my emotions conquer what I knew to be the death toll of our industry.
There is light at the end of the tunnel though. I am done being complacent. I am done letting the very people I elect to represent me work for their benefit and not mine. I have not been in this business for a few year now but the passion that has run in my family for three generations forces me back here every once in a while.
I am tired of being unheard and surrounded by sheep who go along with the crowd. I am now enemy number 1 in the United States, I am an American that's pissed off! I've made a good chunk of money over the past couple years so to quote one of my favorite movies, (Serenity) " I aim to misbehave."
