With the title problems they run into in Clearfield, it wouldn't be hard to pull something like that off.  The Little Pine folks are good people, I ran oil & gas titles alongside some of them up there.  Seemed as if everything I got had something wrong with it, some cloud or else it ran back into a Sheriff's Sale or Treasurers' Deed.

One attorney I talked to had a client who wanted to sell his homestead farm.  Turns out the last recorded deed was in 1895 from into the great-grandfather, who passed away in 1925.  No one in the family ever bothered to raise an estate or execute a deed to the heirs, just kept paying the taxes.  Needless to say, having to run down an heirship chain spanning 80 years would not be a fun task!
