In Jefferson County, KY, we have a "Miscellaneous Book" in our deed room where they record documents that don't necessarily pertain to land.  I think they are basically of historical value, such as military discharge documents, or documents that people fear may get misplaced, such as prenuptial agreements.  Anything that does not fit the criteria for recording in the mortgage books, deed books. lien books, or will books goes in the miscellaneous book.  The same fee is charged for recording of these documents and they do show up in the title search.  I haven't run into any that required reporting on a title search.
