Hey Robert - keep me in mind if you need any help :)

Well, vacation is a tough one!  Last year I personally took a week off work, however I had a former employee whom I was able to call in (and she is still on my E&O because occasionally I need her help anyway) and she was able to handle a couple of my counties.  I also had some abstractors I personally know who were able to step in and take over work for my other two counties (thank goodness!).  I did give a couple customers a heads up I would not be working, but I didn't necessarily advertise this information to just anyone. 

Then I bought a handy dandy netbook, and everyday of vacation (twice a day) I was checking my email, making phone calls, and texting people.  My friends thought I was somewhat crazy, being that I could not totally disconnect myself from work.  However being independent, keeping things in order while I was gone was very important to me.  Luckily it all worked out in the end, and from that experience I am a little more willing to take a day off here and there - knowing that the world will not fall apart while I'm gone LOL.
