So, how is the bank practice of finding foreigners and lending them money without full disclosure any different in Spain than in California as a predatory lending practice?  Answer:  It's not different.  In fact, it's the same.

I hope that the Spanish people, living in a democratic republic, choose to pressure their lawmakers into changing such practices.   I also hope that there are advocacy groups in Spain who are astute enough to fight foreclosures on a number of bases including lack of full disclosure, fraud, and usury.  The banks do indeed have a duty to maximize profits as in any nations where corporate law exists;  this is explicitly written into corporate law.  However, this means that the people have a duty to vote their rights at the jury box and at the ballot box for their own interests which may not coincide with bank profit. 

Move out of Spain (and Europe), is my advice.
