Personally I believe that drugs and television have ALOT to do with the dumming down of our children/society.

I grew up with NO TV, can't say the same about street drugs, but at least I had the common sense to see it was a road going nowhere and stopped (when I was a teenager).

I look at my son, who never watched TV (it appears to be used as a babysitter by parents) and never took drugs and is now a minister, who cares about others and the world at large and is at least attempting to help others and has had success doing so.

Our society unfortunately has become "whats in it for me."

And you are correct it does give a whole new meaning!
