In Connecticut no property can be landlocked. All properties are required to have access to the nearest road.
If the owner's of the property in the above post also had an easement permitting their passage, and the gate in any way limited their free use of their easement it would seem that the gateway is infringing upon their property right. If so, it would seem that they would have a claim for money damages as well as injunctive relief against whoever gated the easement.
