Edward, sometimes "complete" depends on the purpose at hand. For example, in the state where I work, a standard residential title search covers 32 years, but that's by practice, not statute. A chain of title for a tax sale confirmation goes back either 60 years or 75, depending on which of two statutes you prefer. Commercial titles go back 60, by title company fiat, and mineral searches go back to the original land patent, which usually means to the 1830's.

I only mention all that to say, in states that don't have a statutory standard, the working standards can be all over the map... literally, as they sometimes vary county by county as well.
