The problem out here in the hinterlands is that all the abstractors know each other, and to get any real volume somewhere likely means you're taking it from one of your friends. We operate cooperatively around here, more than competitively. We call each other to fetch deeds or check judgments, and return the favors, because we all face the hardships associated with trying to cover several rural counties. It's a perplexing problem.
