Very well said, Pat.  As for you question... you might have already answered it.  If those volume discounts are no longer profitable, I think the same rational applies.  I never liked that concept - I don't think we really ever had "volume discounts" becasue the volume was never promised. If they were truly volume discounts, I think the price would have reverted back to full price a long time ago.

VMC's negotiated volume discounts... but as far as they are concerned, that is just the regular price now.
