The rule of law applies to all individuals in this country; whether they are in foreclosure or not.

From the article "The Florida AG announced a probe...'to determine whether improper documentation may have been created and filed with Florida courts to speed up the foreclosure process, potentially with the knowledge or consent of the homeowners involved'". 

The" expeditious return of these homes back into the market so we can have stablilization" may be important, but what's very important here is that a law firm, which presumably knew the rules, played fast & loose with those rules in order to enrich itself.  As to the sausage analogy I offer this - it only takes a few snowflakes to create an avalanche.  Once the rules are flouted then why bother to have laws at all
