Thank you Slade for your reasoned & sensible arguments about Mr Engle.  I do not disagree with a thing you said.  What I am so annoyed about is the general sense of how things are moving along.  The government has finally decided to prosecute the former head of WAMU - finally after how many years - & I am afraid that he, like Angelo Mozillo,  will get off, or only receive a financial tap on the wrist.  Having read the WAMU post from the NYT I would like to see more of these movers and shakers go to prison right along with Mr. Engle.  I am also having a hard time understanding why the government couldn't find a way to put A Mozillo behind bars.
I'm sure that Mr Engle will do just fine.  He will probably turn this experience to good use & will obtain some benefits from it; but he will still come out of this as a convicted felon.  Think about the bankruptcy fraud attorney noted above.  On her first conviction I believe the judge gave her probation, community service & a fine.  I know the law can be kind of random, but still, I just don't like it.
