It depends on the county, in Nassau county you can search/and must search by name and section block and lot, there can be things indexed under the name that are not indexed under the S/B/L and so forth.

In Rockland and Westchester, if its still the same, you can search by name only.

In Suffolk you can can search under the D/S/B/L and I believe the name.

I think every county is different.
