Yes, they do want to collaspe this economy!  I have a friend of mine who went through a modifiction with her mortgage servicer, and her house payment was increased, not decreased.  She made increased payments for three months, then was notified by the servicer that they had no authority to modify, only the bank or investor could do a modification.  She did not make a mortgage payment for 14 months before they started foreclosure action.  It has not been 19 months since she has made a mortgage payment, and South Carolina has stopped all foreclosures yet again for loss mitigation and foreclosure intervention to be completed by the foreclosure attorney, not the banks.  Obviously, the banks are doing doing their jobs on the modification program.  Surprise!

I could save a lot of money if I didn't have to make a mortrgage payment for 19 months.  I told my friend to stay in her house until the sheriff shows up to put her possessions on the street, and change the locks.  It could be 3 years before she has to move.

I love the federal government!
