We need to refuse to do document retrievals.  Freeze em out.  The clerks up here thought they were doing us a favor putting everything on line but I have lost nearly all my work in Cleveland County, NC as almost all of the grantor and grantee online now.  Used to go in with 4 titles and now lucky if I have one.  It' s very discouraging but offshores have reached out to me saying they have laid off scores of people.  It seems no one has work and North Carolina is dead, dead.  This is what happens when we all cut our prices and sell ourselves cheap, that plus offshore.
