Any long-time Abstractor wanting to stay competitive, I'd highly recommend looking at how to make the most of your current assets - people and data.  For most companies labor is the #1 expense.  Thus, maximizing your output with existing labor, is one of the best (and first) steps to compete (more profits, more bandwidth for revenue growth).  I call this operational efficiency.  Then secondarily, ensuring your data exists in a consolidated, indexed, and easily repurposed structure.
