I had a company recently demand that if I printed ANY copies - I was NOT allowed to charge them for those copies.  They felt if I hit "print" in ANY manner - that meant FREE, for them.

So I sent an email, and asked them if they wanted to pay for my printer, scanner, paper, toner, drum, electricity, internet service, pdf/scanner program, and any other costs which may apply (such as gas to drive to get copies, paying the county for printed copies, and paying for my time spent doing those services!).  If they paid for ALL THAT, then they could have them - for "free".

Also if I was going to give them "free" copies, could they prove to me that they were not going to pass that cost along to their client???  After all, if I wasn't going to make money off copies, why should they make money off copies?  It only seems fair!

If I have to pay for all of that, just to get "free" copies . . . someone HAS to foot that bill since "free" isn't actually FREE!  Can they justify why I should foot the bill, just so they could get "free" copies?  Does everyone else give them "free" copies?  Who then pays for those "free" copies . . . (so many questions!)!

Naturally I got no response, and even when I followed up . . . crickets.  Imagine that!
