Hey Old Man
How have you been? Arbitration and litigation are booming up here in this economy. Wish real eastate would pick up again.
With respect to denial of claims ...I have some practical experience. I will be joining medicare within the next year. I know people who have already joined medicare. So far the only problems seem to be with the doughnut hole in prescription coverage. Supplemental insurance will cover that. Medicare does not cover 100% of all claims. What insurer does? However, in my case that is far better than the coverage I have had through various private insurance carriers in the past 10 years. Medicare recipients usually pick up supplemental insurance through AARP. In fact it is the only organization I would trust through which to buy it. It has a good strong lobby in Washington which I think the baby boomers need as a counter weight to the insurance industry.
With respect to your question ..."How is that fair?" is concerned, I think I would have to ask ...Fair to whom? This is capitalism. If the insurance companies want to participate in the healthcare market...tell them to find a way to compete with a government option instead of reaping huge profits at the expense of the American public and asking the government to give them a break by not having a government option ( sounds kind of like a bail out doesn't it?). I think the better question is what is fair for the American people rather than the insurance industry.
How has everything been going in Pennsylvania? Great Place. I went to school there. Best four years of my life.
