You can delete items, and make the storage temporary on these systems.

 Send your report by email, but the public record images are not very proprietary, plus they are behind a password firewall, so they're hardly a problem.

 The client isn't going to sit on the docs for days;  they'll want them right away, so they can get online and download them easily whenever you have them ready.  Just remind them to do so in a 7 day period, or they'll be taken down.  

Other note:  Metadata or EXIF data in the document background can be cleared with freeware to make your files a bit smaller too.  This can help get them past email limits by  dumping the unnecessary background data.   KEEP these things in mind;  THE NEW CAMERAS which allow you to shoot and focus pictures afterward will make images of much LARGER FILE SIZES  making email impractical and necessitating the use of upload sites, so start investigating the options now.  They may become necessary tools for our industry.  

One site called DocStoc allows users to upload documents to their commercial website.  Anyone who needs a copy can pay a fee to DocStoc to download the images and the user (you) get a cut of the profits too.  Nice option to consider.  They are working to improve searchability now.
