Did you sue both the corporation and the individual? It sounds more like you had a weak case against the individual rather than a sympathetic judge. If your claim was justly against the corporation you got what you bargained for. You as the Plaintiff had the burden of proof against both defendants. It sounds as if you sustained your burden of proof against the corporation, but not against the individual.
The purpose of incorporating or forming an LLC is to limit liability. That is why it is wise to limit the extension of credit to clients.
