Judges don't dismiss cases because "They feel sorry" for a defendant. There had to be more to it than that. There is something that you have missed. If that had happened in Connecticut the judge would have been referred to the Judicial Review Board.
It is difficult to understand how the case was dismissed if you successfully obtained a judgment. There had to have been some procedural mistake in the course of the case.
