I was... but perhaps I should have made that more clear.  I used to be much more conservative in my point of view.  But, as I have gotten older and more educated I tend to believe more and more that the government and those of us who are more fotunate have an obligation to help those who are less fortunate.

This country gives us a lot of opportunity.  I believe that with the opportuntiy comes the responsibility to help our fellow citizens.  While there is a lot of waste in government, I don't have a problem using tax dollars to give the homeless a place to live.
