I can see that you've done your research well before getting involved with a company. But I can tell you from just about a years worth of doing with Altisource that your findings don't hold up to the paranoid thoughts.I was also concerned about having to jump through so many hoops to sign up with them and all the details they wanted for their searches. But I have never had a problem with them about anything. They are very polite and professional, easy to contact about any concerns I have and ALWAYS have paid on time or in a timely manner. So far they are one of the best companies  I've ever worked for and I hope to continue this great relationship with them.

Now I also understand that it can be a case by case matter and there are a lot of shady companies out there, but if you are giving it my call...I recommend them highly.
