In the upstate counties of SC where we primarily search, it has taken a lot of talking to the registry office to convince them it is important for correction dates to be noted. They don't understand what we do or why it matters, but with enough pressure, or education, almost all now note "corrected _/_/_ date". And we generally keep copies of the index as it was on the day or our search, to further protect ourselves."
